During our Christmas holiday we were in Las Vegas at a resort and decided to find a church to worship our Lord on Christmas Eve. We googled a church and on foot headed out to get there on time. On our walk, we saw so many homeless people, actually homeless cities and/or places where the homeless cities had been: numerous parking lots full of the trash left behind where the homeless had resided. It was very gloomy and sad, and just right off the famous Las Vegas strip. When we arrived we found the church closed, after 75 years of serving the community-according to the outside of the building on the marque. Disappointed, we decided to head for another church but to our surprise, it too was permanently closed. We tried googling another church but about five churches were closed in that area. We could find no church to worship within walking distance of our resort and we walked numerous miles. I am not completely sure what God wanted me to understand from my experience, but I am processing it. This area surely could benefit from a church or two, but there were none in the area. We later found out, after inquiring, that there were only two churches in Downtown area, both Catholic churches one on each end of the Las Vegas strip-quite a ways away. We would have to go out into the residential areas to find some place to worship. They were out of walking distance. (We walked at least 10 miles a day while we were there so we are used to walking a lot.) The Lord showed me that day that resources are not convenient for the ones who need it most. There were many financially abundant businesses just a block away as far as the eye could see…yet, no church. I could gamble, eat, swim, go to a show, ride rides, and find many ways to entertain myself and my family-but I couldn’t formally worship my God. Something to think about. Still processing.

Today, I played with God’s butterflies in the park. As an older woman, I was able, thanks be to God that I ran around like a child, brushing the tops of the flowers in the park disturbing the butterflies enough to be swarmed by numerous varieties of them-including the Monarch butterfly in all its beauty. I smiled so brightly, feeling the joy that God intended for each of us to experience from His beautiful creation on such a lovely days. I realized at some point during my excitement that there were many witnesses, also watching the butterflies and me at the park. The flower garden is beautiful here in Abilene, KS…thanks to the hard work of the city, and one woman in particular. She was there, and after my slight embarrassment of being an older woman running around the flower garden laughing and smiling due to the butterflies, and beauty all around me, I went over and thanked her for her divine given skills, which made this all possible. Thanks be to God for those precious moments of joy, and gratitude. Thanks be to Father God my creator.

What a delightful read for me, Peart, your finding joy in the beauty of God’s colorful creation. You let your inner child run free. I can imagine Jesus celebrating that beauty with you. He did say in Matthew 18:3, that “unless we were to become like little children, we will never enter the Kingdom of heaven.

Testimony on believing the Word of God. I had back issues that was crippling me to point I had a very hard time walking even with a cane. I could not stand more than 5 minutes at a time sone days. The attacks of Satan were severe. I know that healing was provided for me on the cross, I was prayed over and anointed with oil. The pain, loss of balance and loss of feeling just got worse.

I could have given up gave in, got depressed. But I chose to believe the Word. I had a couple people speak words of health over me. I held on to them. When people asked how I was, I told them I am healed. I focused on myself being healed as the truth. The Word of God is more true and powerful than what the dr says. So instead of believing in surgery I chose to believe in health and a restored body. After three intense weeks of spiritual battle, I threw away the cane. I started walking healed. I have been seeing steady improvement and have regained balance, strength, and stamina.

It is amazing to see what happens when you remove doubt, and fill everything with the word and presence of our wonderful God!

Praising God that He continues faithfully doing miraculous things all around us, in today’s world. And invites us to see what He sees of the hope, future and righteousness that lies right ahead with Him!
