^“31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. ³² Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

³³ They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”

³⁴ Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. ³⁵ Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. ³⁶ So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:31-36 (NIV)

Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” 

I, like everyone else, besides Jesus, was a slave to sin. I had no permanent place in God’s family. When I asked Jesus to come into my life, he came in and set me free from the penalty of sin & shame. He gave me his Holy Spirit to live in me. He gave me the right to become a child of God. Born of God. To really be His disciple, I must hold to his teaching. Then I will know the Truth and the truth will set me free. Lord, help me to hold to your teaching and know the truth, so I will be truly free. Free from sin & shame. Free to live the life you want me to live. 

Allen, you have been set free, live in that freedom. You have been believing some of the lies of the enemy. I will help you, so you know the truth and you can replace the lies you have been believing with the truth. Every temptation comes with a lie. Don’t believe the lie, believe the truth.
